About AJ Valentine

AJ Valentine spent 4 years at the beginning of her career living in Italy and mastering Italian tailoring and draping in Florence at Polimoda and Milan’s Carlo Secoli taught only in Italian. Her first job was in Couture with Raffaella Curiel, the first Italian Designer to collaborate with Bergdorf Goodman in the 1950s and train Karl Lagerfeld early in his development. Quickly picking up embroidery and fabric design, the question of marketability was a constant across luxury houses and peaked AJ’s interest. Designing RTW for Marc Jacobs, Coach 1941, and Marchesa. Amanda Jane was soon picked up by Mathieu Mirano, as the senior designer for demi-couture collections sold in Dubai, Paris, and NYC while managing special projects for musicians and celebrities like Lady Gaga, Kendall Jenner, Icelandic Iamamiwhoami, Kim Kardashian, Emilia Clarke, and others.

After 3+ successful years at MM, Amanda Jane felt a strong urge to design for women in her own life and accepted a job at Tracy Reese who frequently collaborated with Anthropologie. Managing two brands under TR, Runway production, and special projects for Anthropologie while dressing Michelle Obama, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Halle x Chloe.

Ms. Valentine worked for 5 years as Lead Print Designer and Trend Forecaster for a 1.5 Billion profit company for Fiscal year 2022.

Currently AJ Valentine consults internationally with selected brands, boutiques, and luxury recruiters to help solve unique problems and source top talent for Prada and LVMH.

Valentine find success in knowing and prioritizing the customer whether couture, luxury, RTW, or mass market.
